OJCS is currently seeking a Part-Time Reading & Writing Resource Teacher for 2024-2025 School Year.
The candidate we move forward with will meet the following criteria:
- ●Providing direct instruction to students who require resource support primarily in Reading and Writing (K-4);
- Thorough understanding and experience teaching through the lens of the ‘Science of Reading’ required;
- Working knowledge of Orton-Gillingham-based programs (Barton system or equivalent), as well as Structured Word Inquiry knowledge, an asset;
- Helping teachers plan and carry out accommodations and modified programming for their students in accordance with their IEPs;
- Weekly meetings with the Director of Special Education and collaborating on developing programming for the students requiring resource and enrichment support;
- Locating resources for classroom teachers;
